These untutored 3 hour sessions are designed for printmakers to access the lovely Paddock Art Studio in central Lewes, which includes a spacious main studio, small kitchen, and a communal garden. Group sizes will be limited to 6 including myself and can be booked on a first come first served basis. You will have your own table, plus access to some equipment including: rollers, perspex inking plates, palette knifes, some linocutting tools, a water bath, use of the book press and Rollaco etching press, a drying rack, and a shared plan chest drawer (must be cleared at the end of each term and all work is left at your own risk).

These sessions are not taught and therefore it is expected that you have some printmaking experience and are able to work independently. I will be doing my own work but will supervise use of the press and may be able to assist with queries that relate to processes covered in my taught workshops. These include: monoprinting, monotypes, linocut, pressprint, collagraph, drypoint etching, and mixed media. Please note: there are no screen printing, acid bath etching, or litho facilities.

LOCATION
The address is: Paddock Art Studios, Paddock Lane, Lewes, BN7 1TW. Ring the buzzer on arrival (or the blue door may be propped open). The studio is located at the top of the stairs on the right. There are 5 car parking spaces outside the studio that are free and for everyone’s use, on a first come first served basis. Please note however that the access road is narrow and one way, so if you have a large vehicle you may find it easier to find alternative parking.

COST
£20 if you bring your own consumables (inks, paper and other sundries dependant on the process). I am happy to advise what materials you may need and the suppliers I use.
Or, £30 if you would prefer to use my materials.

Fees are payable in advance via bank transfer or cash on the day.

If you wish to discuss your requirement in advance of the session then get in touch using the form below I can confirm what materials will be available.

Tutors and all those attending classes are asked to become LADVAA (Lewes and District Visual Arts Association) members for insurance purposes and to keep the Paddock studio running – which is £20 for the year. Tutors will collect completed membership forms and £20 (cash). More info here about the benefits of membership: http://paddockartstudios.co.uk/membership-2/

HOW TO BOOK
Submit a booking enquiry form (below) stating your chosen date/s. You will receive an email once your booking is confirmed including information about how to pay.

If a session is fully booked you can be added to a reserve list and I will let you know if a place becomes available. If you wish to cancel a booking please let me know via email as soon as possible. Unfortunately I am not able to offer refunds, but you will have the option to attend an alternative session at a later date depending on availability.
